Reverent Remembrance: Honoring the Dead

The site was created as a companion to an exhibit held at the Burke Museum of Natural History & Culture at the University of Washington in Seattle. The exhibit focused on Halloween, Day of the Dead, mummification and other death rituals, and modern American memorials.

U.S. Census Bureau. Facts for Features: 300 Million

Recently, the U.S. population reached the 300 million mark. In anticipation of the event, the Census Bureau created a page that compares contemporary life and statistics with those of other census milestone years. Featured are “comparisons of population, education, life expectancy, prices…, earnings” and more.

This site offers a “compilation of school crime and safety data and reports…” Topics include “student discipline, victimization, gangs, bullying, weapons, drugs, and other school violence and crime topics.” It is published by the U. S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics.
